A Home Sleep Test, or HST, is an effective and convenient way to get tested for OSA. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a serious medical condition and, therefore, should not be taken lightly!
Here is the process!
Home sleep tests are great for those of you that would rather not spend a few nights at a sleep lab! Thanks to many technological advances to the HST diagnostics, you can get tested in the comfort of your own home.
Warning: Some people may not qualify to take a home sleep test! If you, or a family member has one or more of the following medical issues, an HST is not recommended.
There are numerous HST devices on the market, however none of them will measure as many parameters as an in-lab sleep study. The ApneaLink™ Plus will measure these crucial factors:
The HST device is shipped overnight, to the address you provide. The package will include:
First of all, the night you receive the kit use the device through the night. Make sure you follow the directions carefully. Then, pack the device up along with the medical history form. Finally, ship it back to us with the prepaid shipping label that is provided.
Once received, our board-certified Sleep Physician will examine the results and determine if you have sleep apnea. The Physician will complete the analysis and email the results and recommendations to you. (A prescription is also provided to those who have sleep apnea)
Following the diagnosis, if you have OSA, you then need to determine a CPAP machine and mask to buy. There are an array of options available to you, so you can go on living a happier, healthier life.
